It is/was great preparation for the preschool they now attend/will attend. My daughter went off to the preschool at 2.5 years, and my son will enroll at 20 months. And there *is* a difference between this preschool and daycare. Both are excellent, but I wouldn't want my 3 1/2 year old still in the daycare.
There is a difference among many different care/education options. My issue (and I have posted several times above) is the generalizations people make. You had a daycare that you loved and it does not have a preschool component that you want to stick with so you are moving your children to a different preschool. That is great. That said, that only speaks to the preschool component of your daycare (I am assuming it had one that you chose not to continue with) as compared to the particular preschool you chose, you cannot extrapolate about all daycare centers with preschools in them vs. all preschools. Does the preschool you moved your daughter to offer full day care or do you have a nanny pick up your child at noon? If it is a full day preschool with an aftercare component, how is it different than a good daycare with a good preschool component?
