Bullis vs. Landon

Bullis is for new money idiots and Landon is for preppy jocks. There you go.

I’m sad to hear that is your perception of Bullis. Of course there are the so called “new money” families at Bullis...they are at all local private schools. Perhaps if you got to know a diverse sampling of the community, you would not be spewing such meanness. Name calling is quite childish and that speaks volumes about you and none about the schools.

What is the real reason you feel the need to make such a statement?

I don’t think you can go wrong with either decision.

I know of some families who have a boy at Landon and a boy at Bullis and both families seem happy.

Congrats and good luck!

Three years later, my kids love it and we are very happy with the quality of the academics and also with the community. All of the stuff you generally read here simply isn't true. Coincidentally my neighbor's sons all go to Landon--we lose a lot of Bullis car magnets mysteriously.

Do you have any specific questions I can try to answer?

You have a parent who says don't believe everything you read then takes a potshot at another school and her neighbors' kids. This is exactly what makes this board so frustrating and equally revealing about the character of some who post.

Check out each school's website, take a visit to campus, talk to parents and students. Ask about the financial well-being of the school and the state of its leadership. These are the kinds of things that will help you make an informed decision.

We are a Va family who has a son at Landon. We have been thrilled with our experience. Our son loves the athletics but he is also a musician and has been able to enjoy performing with all their musical opportunities.

I was at first concerned about things I read about the school in the past, but we decided to look after we started noticing that some of the nicest boys in our child’s favorite sport went to Landon. We dug in deep and noticed incredible academics/college placement and most important just happy kids. I suggest you spend some time on the campus and you will see pure joy. It is a school that gets each boy where they are and brings out the best. I do not want to put Bullis down because I know happy families from that school and no one has said a word about financial issues so maybe this is a DCUM gossip thing. Good luck in your search!!
