Then I'd swap out Hyde-Addison, Bancroft, and Thomson, where you have very little chance. It seems you prefer Montessori to immersion, and Bancroft is immersion.

If you do in fact like immersion, why not the French programs at both Stokes schools?

You should also apply to LAMB, which runs its own lottery.

Langdon and LAMB would be inconvenient for a commute to Foggy Bottom.

Not any more inconvenient that Inspired Teaching or Lee Brookland.

Driving to all of the Brookland/Woodridge schools would be miserable if OP is commuting from JBAB. 295, 395, 695, New York Avenue - all hell during rush hour.

Add Stokes East End to your list, if you are ok with either French or Spanish immersion.

It's a brand new charter school affiliated with one of the oldest charter schools in the city.

Its new location (just announced today - 2501 MLK Jr Ave SE ) is 1.7 miles from JBAB and directly on the way into the city.

Stokes East End opened last year and is on East Capitol.

Lee Montessori East End will be at the Barry Farms location

OP Why aren't you considering a pk spot at Leckie? From posters here it's a good program and many military send their children there for the younger grades.

HA does not have pk3

We were in a Reggio daycare and moved to IT for PS3 & PK4. Very positive transition and environment. If you were to get in there, you could easily find rentals that would make the commute less onerous. (There are parent carpools from Capitol Hill for example).

Mundo Verde also has a van carpool (paid) from Capitol Hill to the school. Lots of community represented there, which would make it easy to get to work and school.

We lived on Capitol Hill, went to both schools, and commuted to Foggy Bottom.

According to MSDC, it does. It, Bancroft, and Shepherd are the only Wilson feeders that do.

OP here - we're not sure if we will ultimately live on base at JBAB. If we do, I would do Leckie after Lee Montessori East End.

OP here - If we got Lee (Brookland) or IT, we would find a rental in that area, making the home-to-school commute easy, even if the school-to-work commute was a little tough.
