During the week I get up between 7:00-7:30. Kids (7 and 11) are up by 7:30. On weekends kids get up whenever they want and we sleep in (unless there are activities/sports). |
ugh 11 month old wakes us up at 5:50 am every single day, god i long for the lazy days when i'd sleep in on weekends and wake up to sunshine. ![]() |
This is me, too, during the work week. I mostly work from home. If I have to go into the office, I get up at 5:45 or so but that’s pretty rare. |
During the work week I get up at 5:30 if I am not dropping kid off at daycare and 6:30 if I am dropping off. On the weekend we usually get to sleep between 8 am - 9 am. Kid is 16 months old |
During the week, I'm up at 430/445 to go running by 5am. Wife up and showering by 530 and I'm back from run by 615. DS wakes up around 6 and DD wakes up around 7. Out the door for school by 730-745...
Weekends my DW sleeps in and I'm up with the kids. Run during DD nap. |
When my kids wake me up, anytime between 6:30-8 (usually on the early side of that range). Lately, I've found myself occasionally getting up ~30 min before them, but that's not consistent.
I WAH, and their nanny shows up at 8am to get them ready for pre-school (she grocery shops and does other household errands while DS is in half-day PS). Sometimes I cook them breakfast before she comes, other times we play or they just sleep in...regardless, I know I'll here her come in at 8am so I don't set an alarm. I know my life is really, really nice. I have a fairly demanding job with a decent amount of travel and an indecent amount of stress. I also have a couple of volunteer commitments that mean a lot to me. I think not commuting or having to put on a suit and make-up everyday gives me a lot of extra time...you don't realize how much time all that stuff takes up until you stop doing it! |
Whoa . . . when do all of you 4, 5 AM risers go to bed? Like 8 or 9 PM?
I get up usually between 7:30-8:30 AM and in bed ~11-12. |
Why the whoa....i don’t get up at 5 bc i love it it’s not a choice. And yes asleep by 9:30 but whoaaaa kudos for getting to sleep in. |
Np why isn’t it a choice? I sleep trained to get to sleep until 7 |
If I'm driving to school, 30-45 minutes before we have to leave. If not, it varies from 10-2. |
6:30/7:00 on weekdays. DD (3) up at 7:30, drop her at school at 8, at work by 8:15. On the weekends, whenever DD gets up - usually between 7:30 and 8:30. |
7:20am on weekdays. I start getting ready first and I spend a good 10 min trying to wake up DS (5) for school. And then its a mad rush to be out the door by 8 to catch school bus. Im kind of envious of folks whose kids who are up earlier but then its nice not to be woken up early on weekends. |
Can any of you share tips for actually getting up? I use my kids as my alarm and they usually come in between 6:30 and 7 to snuggle and then we all get up at 7-7:10. However, I know I would be much happier if I could get up at 6 and have some time to plan my day, write, get breakfast started before they wake up. But I just can’t seen to get out of bed |
