What's your daycare snow, cold & other closure policy?

My center almost never closes.

I'm an in Home daycare provider in Falls Church but under Fairfax County jurisdiction. My contract states following FCPS announcement on bad weather. Even with that, I send out notices the night before and stayed open for the last 2 times that FCPS was closed. We also open on time at all times that they announced delayed opening. We do our best to judge our immediate surroundings because we are well aware that FCPS makes a lot of unnecessary closing including places that was not really affected at all. Today, we did a 2 hr delay opening just because we weren't sure what we are going to wake up to. That little time helped us made sure that our grounds was safe for everyone.

Though the safety of our children is always a priority (to keep them off the street on a possible hazardous roads). It is important for a provider to have good judgement to better serve its mission.
