Is the surrogate also her genetic mother or was she just her GC? Because if she was her GC only than the girl is still kept in dark about her genetics.

The dad has a partner. The partner is not legally the kids’ father, but he’s not really a single dad.

Oh. I didn't get that from the article, but def could have missed it. I get why the ED/Surrogate, etc. was mentioned, and it's nice that this gets publicized to help educate others, but will be nicer when it's NBD.
