I cut the grapes up for my 43 year old husband. You can never be too safe. I also don't like him eating hotdogs, makes me nervous. |
I only allow my husband to eat his hot dogs quartered, and is never let him play with Mighty Beanz! His mom is proud of me. |
| I think that anyone who finds any humor about a child choking definitely should have there head examined |
| Yes I most certainly cut up grapes for my toddler |
| And just told my daughters mother to trash the mighty beans she just bought our daughter for Christmas they are definitely going in the trash |
You are supposed to care more about your kids than about feeling superior. |
I think anyone who digs up a three-year-old thread on Christmas Eve just to get outraged definitely should have his or her head examined. |

Totally on board with you here. I actually hate Christmas. It is a round of cringe hoping relatives didn't get toys that I hate (and they always do). My kid's dentist gives out microscopic toys as prizes. I love my kid's dentist but I really hate that part of the visit. I usually throw the junky toy away first time I see if out of my son's line of sight. I hate our culture of filling up landfills with junky plastic garbage.
When I did my EMT certification I heard a horror story of a woman choking to death on a tootsie roll in front of her kids. |
I was playing basketball at age 11 when a 7 year old eating a hot dog in the stands (sibling of a teammate) choked on a hot dog and DIED during the game. Cut grapes, cut hot dogs all you want OP. Sh&^ happens. |

Holy crap, great job to the rescue mom.
Yeah, Boys are ridiculous. They actually will continue to put stupid things in their mouths. I tell mine not to "pop" the grape/blueberry/etc n their mouths or I will cut them like a baby. |

some posters who are saying you can choke on anything are missing the point. Yes, you can choke on anything, but grapes and hot dogs are the exact size and firmness to completely lodge in the windpipe and cause death. Thus, many people cut those items.
All adults should be familiar with the most common food and non-food choking hazards. |
