I am the PP who mentioned it earlier. In my case, specifically, the embryologist was referring to the fact that our 26 y.o. donor eggs resulted in only 1 PGS normal out of 5, 2 cycles in a row. It was unusual to have such a high number of PGS abnormals from a donor this young. By no means she was trying to encourage the 44 y.o. me to keep trying with my own eggs. And then neither of PGS normals took. So there is that. It's complex and it would be a mistake to think it's all hankey dorey, just because the woman in the article was successful. I have tried with my own eggs for 7 cycles, transferring untested between 2 and 5 embryos each time. Only one took and ended in miscariage due to a (drum roll) trisomy... Take what you will from this. |
