PP here, Sarajevo is beautiful! |
It’s not a revolution. It’s an economic and societal collapse. Cheers! |
Well, in that case I would feel much safer. |

In most cases, I'd say the country needs the tourist revenue so go. But Venezuela is a different case right now. It's complete collapse and few goods to go around. It's a really bad (and presumptuous) idea to go.
How about Argentina? The peso is down but the people are surviving pretty well and the infrastructure is still sound. |
ummm, this is what I meant: Resort Security Guard Arrested After Carla Stefaniak Found Dead Near Her Airbnb in Costa Rica https://www.thedailybeast.com/resort-security-guard-arrested-after-florida-woman-found-dead-near-her-airbnb-in-costa-rica |
| I work with 2 people who fled Venezuela and really love their country...but love their families even more. There are food and medicine shortages OP as well as rampant crime because people are literally fighting to survive. Find another place to travel to. |
| What an idiot. Just yesterday there was a report Russia put two nuclear capable bombers there. i mean seriously OP? |
| DO NOT go to Venezuela. I am from there and there is a shortage of everything and crime is at an all time high. Criminals prey on the middle class that is lleft and the few tourists who are there. You will be putting your family in danger. It’s a beautiful country, but now is not the time. |

You do not want to go. This is coming from a person who goes to humanitarian disasters for a living.
You are risking catching any number of infectious diseases, not only from the distressed infrastructure (think bad water supply with no access to bottled water) but from the Venezuelan health system lacking vaccines (lack of herd immunity). There are thousands of people streaming to clinics across the borders seeking primary health care, much less urgent care. Food is hard to come by, as witnessed by the average 15-20 kg drop in weight Venezuelans have experienced over the last two years. I personally don't think I could enjoy a vacation when the people around me are starving and lacking basic services. |
| Given that Venezuela is on the travel ban list, I would expect your return to the US would be subject to very high scrutiny. |

doesn't say don't travel but says what to understand. |
The travel ban does not apply to US citizens. There is absolutely no prohibition for American citizens to visit Venezuela. |
