Kitchenaid Stand Mixer - Tips and Hacks

Question for the crowd- I use mine often but when I mash hot potatoes in it, the bowl seems to get stuck to the base. I'm sure it's some sort of heat suction... Any way to prevent that?

Thanks!

If mixing a small amount of something it helps to lift the bowl slightly rather than leaving it attached to the base. I do this all the time for whipping egg whites. I have the professional mixer that sits on pins, not the one that twists on.
It really helps to have two bowls if you use it a lot. I have all the attachments and seldom use them but I use the mixer daily.
It's great for kneading bread dough.

My Kitchenaid lives on the counter but I lust after my friend's "mixer stand," which fits inside the cabinet and pops up to counter height. It costs about $70 from catalogs, uninstalled.
