Does the car adjust itself when it sense the possibility of instability? like in sharp turns, speed, slippery road, or driver incapability.
Doesn't Ford have a car like that do stuff like this.

I am asking because I don't know what the fancier brand's usually come with.

Big new features are:

-Better air suspension that now has cameras that read the road surface and curvature ahead. The suspension responds almost instantly to effectively dampen out potholes and body roll. The suspension can rapidly raise/lower to "rock" itself out if stuck in mud or sand.

-Insane amount of active safety features. The car will nudge you to the center if it detects an impending side impact. It will help you make evasive steering maneuvers (i.e. enough to avoid the accident without overdoing it). If the car detects an impending collision it will play pink noise to protect your hearing from the airbags. A lot of amazing stuff.

-The semi-autonomous driving capability is very likely going to be better than the current iteration of Tesla's Autopilot.

The lease on my wife's RX350 is up soon and the GLE is definitely going to be a contender.

Volvo XC90 had had this since 2016

No it hasn’t.

XC90’s with air suspension are unicorns and they cannot adjust at each wheel like the new GLE, let alone read the road surface ahead. The XC90 air suspension is really basic.

WRT to safety, the previous gen GLE fares better in crash tests than the *current* XC90. Their semi-autonomous driving is also nowhere near as advanced or usable as what MB currently has.

Got a Tesla X two years ago, all of the features you mention are standard. I’d recommend you give it a test drive before settling for this one.

Mercedes active safety systems and semi-autonomos driving is better than Tesla's. Tesla air suspension is the same as Volvo, very basic.

The Model X looks like a bloated whale carcass and I'm not going to ask my ILs to install a 240v charger at their beach house in DE so I can charge when we visit.

Take a test drive. I’ve driven a Mercedes GLE and a model X, p100d, and it really is no contest. The Tesla is super fast:quick with one gear, fast. It is amazing. Difference between analog and digital. The bloated whale carcass costs 160k+ however but you can wait for the model Y which will be out in 2020.

I've driven a colleague's Model S. "Super fast" is great for the suburban stoplight grand prix but pretty useless if you live in DC proper. The interior feels like a $50k car. The range/charging limitations make it a non-starter for my wife and I. And it honestly makes the X6 look stylish.
