Just did not want to deal with fields, the refs, etc...you know the lower ages groups get the worst of both. They are doing the Southampton tournament in Baltimore Dec 1. |
| Why doesn't Stoddard do the tournament? |
| Bethesda and Stoddert don't get along and have a beef with each other. |
|
| Anybody hearing that Bethesda tourney schedule may change due to fields being unplayable this weekend from all the rain and more rain coming Friday? I hear they are trying to move everyone to turf.... |
Which would beg the question, if they can move everyone to turf, why didn't the do that in the first place? Don't see how it can be done, unless they cut games. |
Yeah. I don’t know how this is possible, unless the cut games and/or hold games in Virginia or other distant locations. But this will affect hotels reservations and people’s travel plans. |
|
If we were traveling to this tournament and the choices were (a) to play "soccer" in the mud at Muldoons or (b) drive an extra 30 minutes to play games on turf (or grass fields that actually drain water), then we'd choose the latter option every time.
Plus, it is not like there are a ton of hotels by Muldoons. Driving into VA, DC or elsewhere in MD could be closer depending on the location of the new fields. I'll believe it when I see it, but I would love for a different location for this weekend's games. |
Hadn't heard this. What are the reasons for the antipathy? |
It likely costs more money to both k and use the turf fields. Therefore they would plan to use grass unless forced to move to turf. It’s all about the $$ |
Right, it is about $$$$, But they are not playing on grass. They are playing on a cow pasture with a stream running in the middle of the field. |
A horse pasture, technically. |
| Bethesda schedules have been pulled - they're making changes. |
really hoping we get a better schedule and field!! They should let us know by tonight right??!! |
Let's hope the horse pasture is left to horses. |
