When did you give up on pushing your DC to eat breakfast? Cave to sweet cereals. Pop tarts?

Would they do a European style breakfast with cold cuts and thinly-sliced cheeses? Or Mediterranean breakfasts often with spanikopita or grilled vegetables?

I make a bunch of Kodiak Cakes on the weekend and freeze them in individual servings. They microwave well and have more protein than regular pancakes.

Same. I've never bought pop-tarts or sugar cereal, except once a year when we're on vacation.

Wow, well can I mail your medal?

No processed sugar for breakfast either but sometimes sweet...recipes with eggs and bananas (no flour or sugar) for pancakes and (add blueberries) for muffins, Kodak protein waffles with peanut butter. Other breakfasts include avocado toast, rice with soft eggs, bean burrito with egg, peanut butter toast with sliced bananas, ricotta cheese, sliced strawberries or pears, a drizzle of honey on toast and sometimes it’s just peanut butter on a spoon, glass of milk and some slice apple. I have also been known to make a grilled cheese.

When I was in high school, I had to have Instant Breakfast in the morning so I could tolerate my medication. I had no appetite that early but I could stomach the drink.

My son drinks milk. Sometimes has plain lunch meat rolled up. He’s never been a breakfast eater. He still gets a snack time at school. He has fruit and cheese then. About 10am.

Serve it with whole milk, encourage a fruit topping (bananas or berries) and move along.

I get that OP's kid needs to eat something in the morning for her medication, but all of you who say they don't let their kids leave the house without making them eat breakfast need to back off. Stop force feeding your children! They should never feel like they HAVE to eat. Some people just don't like to eat in the morning. I've never eaten breakfast and I'm perfectly healthy. Recent studies are actually showing it's healthier to let our bodies fast for longer periods than just overnight.

I've resorted to giving cereal I grew up- Captain Crunch, etc, since my kids hate the taste of ”natural” cereals, even cereal for breakfast is a challenge. They both play off one another to get away with not eating.

Good example how the kids are in charge at home. Sad for these children who are crippled for life, due to inadequate parenting at home.

Why whole milk? Wouldn't skim or 2% milk be wiser? Some have Omega in it.

Me too! I'm 50, still have all of my teeth, and my first-ever colonoscopy was polyp-free. I think the Cap'n Crunch must have cleared me out.
