Anyone familiar with UChicago Lab School?

We moved to DC before it was time to enroll my eldest but we had planned to move from the north side to Hyde Park to send our kids to Lab. That’s how highly we thought of it. Both of us Northwestern alums.

I'm surprised no one has yet mentioned the difficulty of admissions for non University Affiliated applicants. University-affiliated applicants merely need to reach a certain threshold to be admitted . Only if there are leftover seats then they go to non-affiliated. I agree that there is a distinct difference between the lab school and the upper school, called U High. While the school talks about it a the actual number of students who take University classes is not that high. Still the atmosphere is very special. There are school-run busses to the north side. There really isn't a very close equivalent here.

No public?

Nope. As presidential children security concerns were of referenced in attending Sidwell ( not showing much confidence in the secret services ability to secure a building, that.), but before coming to o Washington. they attended this very nice private school in Chicago. I'm not sure what the family security concerns was at that time.

Just to prevent any kind of Terminator to go back in time and chase their kids.

Very wise and very woke move.

That is to say the lower Lab School is less prestigious than the high school? Sorry, uncertain what you mean.

Pretty sure George Lucas of Star Wars funded that addition. $25+ million.
