Is royal work hard work?

This obviously isn’t the case because your taxpayers are spending a lot on the royal family.

Speaking of the Queen - I’ve only seen her referred to with the honorific ‘Ma’am’. Meghan’s turning heads.

I think the hard work would be for the women.

Keeping their figures slim + trim.
Their hair colored so not one gray hair shows up.

And keeping their skin acne/wrinkle-free for all those close-up photos we see inside magazines.

She is a knowledable, confident speaker who doesn’t stammer, talk about how nervous she is, put on a fake accent, play with her hair, or even use notes. She also researches the people and places she is going ahead of time so she has something informative to say, unlike Kate.

Kate should take a page from her book. Meghan is a natural fit as a royal duchess. Kate, not so much.

Meghan has been in this lifestyle for less than a year. Of course she has energy, and she has more experience with being a celebrity than Kate did.

And crying on tv during weddings. Unless all those people interviewed were foreigners doing great English accents

And she’s got no kids and family life to juggle

Um, every brand Kate and her kids wear sells out in 24 hrs the next day. And the huge crowds lining the streets were 100% tourists and expats? Ha.

As an introvert, it would be the death of me to be a royal. I get exhausted being around (a lot) of people. Cant imagine that being my lifestyle just about 24/7.

And, regardless of the weather, they have to get out there and stay at events even when they're dreadfully boring. They are always being watched and judged. I wouldn't want most of that life...some of the perks are great...but they come at a high cost.

How hard it is this to do when you have a glam squad coming to you? You just have to sit there while someone does your hair and makeup and someone else picks out your clothes.

This, in addition to the diplomatic child’s notes above.

Here’s one example. You know when you’re looking for the exact right outfit and it is WORK. It’s enjoyable I suppose but it turns into something not enjoyable. By the 100th thing you try on, you’re getting frustrated, you’re becoming a mess, you’re starting to question why you need this outfit.

I’m truly not trivializing. I mean it. Royal life is taking something pleasant: power (sort of), access, luxury, freedom and it is all *burdened* by the other aspect of it. Heavy responsibility, eyes on you always, critiscism, death threats, self-awareness of a really strange kind.

Many celebrities experience this at the top level. But for royalty it’s for life, and it’s hard to let loose on top of that.

Most of Kate's clothes are bespoke. Designers come to her with ideas then she and her stylist tailor them to what she likes specifically to make it "her" then they measure her and make the clothing.

When it comes time to get dressed, she has a glam squad come to her.

I'm sure she does occasionally shop online or in person for her casual clothing that she wears in her every day life but she's not doing what you describe for official events. People come to her, not the other way around.

Think about it this way. In less than a year (has it even been six months since the wedding?), she's already spearheaded a major initiative on her own and it was a big success. Kate is SEVEN YEARS into her marriage and is still promising to do more work every year when the official #s come out and she's reported to be the least working senior royal AGAIN. She is all talk and no action.

+ 1

There's a reason why she had almost 0 work experience before her marriage (a part time job at Jigsaw that she left after half a year to be on call for William then a "job" at her parents' company photographing items for their catalog. Even the Queen remarked on the fact that it was weird that she didn't have a real job). Girl doesn't know what the word means.

With her background, it's actually not that surprising that she's known as Duchess Dolittle in England. It's going to get worse for her though because Meghan is majorly showing her up.

Girl thinks bagging a future king means being a glorified SAHM.
