Disney Planning is beyond stressful! Help!

Anonymous
Here's what I would do with 5 days and a five year old (FWIW, I've been to Disney about 6 times in the last 9 years, starting when my oldest was about 3).

You should pick which day to go to which park based on your schedule. Like, try to avoid MK on a Saturday. Also, get the app.

I'd do 2 days at MK: Brunch at Crystal Palce (delicisious, but morning is usually light crowds, so try to get the latest breakfast spot available), the other sit-down I'd do BOG, if I could get in.
FP: Peter Pan; Mine Train if he's adventurous; Winnie the Pooh, and maybe Small World. Get there early as the crowds really pick up around 11 a.m. The 3-D Mickey Movie is a lot of fun, as is the Comedy show from Monsters Inc. Dumbo has a playground inside and out so if pretty fun.

AK: Is a ton of fun. There's a great boneyard playground, plus the petting zoo up at the Rafiki place. Don't do the dinosaur ride -- it's scary and not fun. The Russel Scout Passport is also fun for this age.
Meal -- Tusker House all the way. It's the best character meal at the parks.
FP: Navi River ride (like small world on acid); Festival of the Lion King show (gets you good seats); and I guess the Safari (although if you do that first thing in the a.m., there's not much of a line). If your kid loves animals, you may want to do the safari twice. Also, if you love rides and don't mind baby swapping your kid, then I might say use your FP on the Avatar flight ride (best ride ever) and the Everst ride (which is really fun).

HS: This has been substantially redone since I last went, with the opening of new rides. So I'm not totally sure on this one.
Food: It all stinks at HS. Maybe the Italian place for sitdown? The hotdog stand is pretty good for your fast casual pick. If you kid really likes shows, you can get a package where you eat ther and then get priority seatng for Fantasmic, but it's late and my kids found it too long.
FP: Midway Mania; Star Wars; and I guess the new slinky dog if you can get it? If you want to baby swap here, the Aerosmith roller coaster is actually really fun (unless you hate Aeurosmith music).

Epcot: Be aware that the world pavilios don't open until 11 a.m., and are an INCREDIBLY long walk and, frankly, kind of disappointing. Don't miss Tutle Talk with Crush for that age.
Food: Lots of good options. The Mexican place is pretty good. People like the German place, but we found it kind of meh. It's a good hcoice if you like polka music and meat, though. I've heard the Chinese place is the place to avoid. The French and Canadian places are considered the best, along with the seafood place (which has a huge aquarium so popular with kids).
FP: Soarin' (check the height requirements) or Test-track (same). Unless they've changed it, sadly you cannot FP both of them. The space thing is fun, and there's typically not a long line if you want to do the less scary version, but that's another you can FP. At that age, my kids also really liked the slow agricultural ride through the farm (like a 4H small world).

Hope this helps!
