Rescue vs Breeder

Not OP but many terrier mixes are also low shed. Also I think mini schnauzers and maybe even wire coated dauchhounds.
To my mind, mini doodles can be problematic, behavior wise. They sometimes are nippy and anxiety prone like mini poodles.

OP here. No, Maltese, Bishon, llasa apso, havanese, Shih Tzu, or some combination of any of those with poodle (but not lab/golden doodle - those tend to be bigger than we want.

Even regular small dogs need not shed a lot. My last foster puppy was like 5 lbs., and if she shed at all, I didn’t notice it. I say focus less on shedding, and more on temperament, and you’re more likely to be successful.

I haven’t seen any younger than 6 that didn’t have serious health or adjustment problems. The small non shedding dogs are few and far between. If I wanted a lab mix it would be no problem. I will keep looking, thanks.

Isn't lab mix code for pitbull?

Generally speaking, no. They tend to be catch-all for usually black looking dogs of no discernible ancestry.
