ie, NOT "smart chick lit" |

If you like fantasy, I'd recommend the Daughter of Smoke and Bone series.
Sleeping Giants has strong women, but isn't explicitly chick lit. A Court of Thorns and Roses is borderline smutty, but still really fun. Obelisk Gate is kind of heavy, but also a must-read. |

J Courtney Sullivan's books are good ( The engagements, Maine, Saints for all Occasions)
The interestings was terrible, but all of Meg Wolitzers other books are really good. Her book The Wife was just made into a movie. Any books by Julia Glass |
|
Modern Lovers by Emma Staub is good but the Vactioneers was better.

The Luckiest Girl
The Adults Exquisite (currently reading) |
| The Wedding Date, by Jasmine Guillory, is both fluffy and smart, with a “realistic” female protagonist. It leans romance, which is not a genre I usually read, and I loved it. |
I was going to recommend Sains for All Occassions |

Me times three
by Alex Witchel The Dive from Clausens pier by Ann Packer |
| Muriel Barbery's The Elegance of the Hedgehog |

Silver Sparrow

Am I the only one who loves Jodi Picoult?
All the ugly and wonderful things |
She's become too predictable for me. Ripped from the headlines plot lines, and the twist for an ending... |

I loved "dive from clausens pier." |
