Best small commuter car on a budget

Honda, Mazda, Toyota - all exceptionally reliable.

Maybe the German cars, but my Lexus uses Toyota parts, not that it ever breaks. I have been getting g regular suggested maintenance since I bought it. And those have been $$$. Toyota will do the maintenance too and cheaper per hour rates, but their checklist doesn’t include everything extra that Lexus recommends, which we like now that the car is older.
