Well having a pta is one step higher than Leckie?

Yes I will go tour if we get into a school.

I understand the bus ride will be a bit of time. I understand it might not be perfect. But I’ve done a lot of research so far and it’s not like I can pick any school in dc. I’m holding these schools up against leckie which makes me feel very uncomfortable from the experience I had while visiting. So I’m going into all of this pretty eyes wide open.

You are doing it right, OP. There may be more convenient options but who knows if they will have a seat at the time you need it, so you're right to evaluate many schools to cover your bases.

Thank you

We have a low teens number on the WL at Hyde Addison right now so I highly doubt we will get in. Langley is pretty much our only choice other than Leckie and maybe some ward 8 charters. But I’m not sold on the charters at all. Not even close.

I think it's totally possible that you could get in to Hyde Addison. But they are undergoing a move and some leadership changes, you may already know of that. Are you admitted to Langley already, or just high on the waitlist?

Not admitted. Just saw that they have 18 K seats open when I was cross checking the spots open list to the bolling bus list. I’m going to call the base school liaison tomorrow to ask a little more about the bus and if other base students go there. If it sounds like the start of a good plan I’ll add it to our lottery application in the morning.

Let us know how it goes, we'd love to have you! If you call the school that may motivate them to move the waitlist along-- sometimes things like that fall by the wayside because the last two weeks of school are such a busy time.
