Yeah, SOME boomers did all of the things the PP mentioned, but far more acted like a bunch of money grubbing, selfish, me first takers. |
You sound like a bitter child of divorced parents. Don't indict a whole generation based on two people that suck as parents and raised a child that has arrested development. |
Boomers had it a lot harder than younger generations. We grew up with out cell phones, computers and the internet, could you even deal? |
How old are you? |
I'm the first poster who responded to this thread. This is why I said it's mostly because you're mean. If you felt bad because you weren't perfect but proud of the steps forward you helped us take I wouldn't have hard feelings. But you have this like, "we have done nothing wrong and your generation sucks and you can't question me because I'm your elder" attitude. We're grown ups now suffering as a result of a lot of your policies and voter and you give us nothing but contempt. I'm not sure why I'm supposed to like our respect a generation that treats mine with contempt. And you're putting that you're just going to keep doing it with this stupid "dismiss all teenagers because they all eat tide pods" bs |
The world was worse and harder for previous generations. My boomer generation had it easier than our parents generation. Current generations are facing different problems for sure, it's not utopia, so change it, as we did. |
Like I said it's mostly the talking sh$% and condescension that bugs me. Thanks for meeting those expectations. BTW I never complain about boomers unprompted. I'm just answering op's question. No point telling you all you're mean, that is pointless drama |
| Old white men. |
| Young ones have a lot of growing up to do. Sad. |

When I was in my 20-30's, I paid student loans, drove a beater car, I lived with roommates, bought a condo, then a TH then a SFH. It took years of saving to be able to afford an nice SFH in a good neighborhood.
It seems like younger people think that baby boomers had wealth drop out of the sky. Boomers have wealth from decades of working and investing. If you are young you will have wealth, it will take time, just stick with it. Also, if your parents are boomers you will likely inherit from them. We got nothing from our parents estates, because there was nothing left. Stop whining. |
| Actually, the people who destroyed the country were the ones who voted for Reagan in 1980. That ended the federal support for all kinds of things, and lead to just about every problem you mentioned (student loans, national debt. Etc). The majority of people under 30 (e.g. boomers) voted for carter. |
But withOUT destroying the earth or the legacy of future generations this time. Yeah, the rules are a little different. |
| The boomers were the generation of rebellious youth, I think that is a trait that would serve the younger generations well. If you don't like that way things are, rise up, fight the 'man'! |
What do you think of the parkland kids and the women's March? |
