| We actually like the same shows, and Discovery ID is one of our favorites, since we're a LEO family. I've been fascinated by true crime all of my life, so marrying a LEO was fitting. |
Like what shows? |
| Married 32 years. Never watch TV together except for national news. 3 TVs in the house. |
Same here. He also does it with the movies I like. I'm dreading seeing Infinity War with him this week because I know afterwards he's just talk about how stupid it is. Sometimes I really wish I had married a fellow nerd..... |
| Yes, but I work from home so I can usually catch up on a show during DH’s commute while I make dinner. He catches up on his when I’m at the gym. We watch series together before bed and those can be a compromise. |
| Hahahahaha My DH is like an old grandma. He loves Turner Classic movies, all the English historic drama series. I am really into Billions, Barry, Looming Towers. I feel guilty and will turn on a home improvement show for him sometimes. We do not mesh any more. |
| If one person has picked the tv show, the other person gets the laptop (if they want to be present but not interested in tv). An abundance of riches (having more than 1 of each) would just lead to less togetherness. |
| We have 9 TVs with DVRs, so no compromise needed. |
|
Yes we do compromise. I hate all his shows and vice versa so we compromise by watching things we can both tolerate but would not necessarily choose to watch on our own (eg, home improvement shows, Shark Tank, Black Mirror, Electric Dreams, Empire).
It works but we have no kids yet so also have plenty of time to catch up on our personal shows on our own. |
| we don’t watch tv, grow up. |
