I have never been impressed by any UVA grads. I have hired kids from nearly every other school in the area over thevarrogant UVA grads. Never been let down by any of them. News flash UVA is not all that great.

Are UVA grads interested in your McJob?

Apparently since they send us their resume. Unless they are so unqualified coming out they have to go with the blanket approach.

1) the U of Maryland students and graduates
2) the parents of UVA students who didn't get in
3) the UVA applicant students who didn't get in
4) The Virginia Tech students (there's a long-standing rivalry between UVA and VT)
5) The NoVA parents who are frustrated that they pay so much in taxes but can't get their kids into the top Virginia universities (who didn't even bother to apply because their child doesn't have the 4.40 GPA, and 33 ACT)
6) all compounded by the recent statistics of how difficult it was to get into VT this year.

That's the overall rate. They have different numbers for Virginia and out of state.

I think it's one person who has way too much time on their hands. It seems like a lot of people are into UVA.

If you went to UVA and your kids attended strong schools all of their life, isn’t it a bit underwhelming they can only get into the public flagship? Better than being a dope smoking layabout, sure, but a kid born on third should be able to progress a bit more.

^board member tried to do. Later on Sullivan was reinstated and Dragas was shown the door.

That is a strange re-telling of what happened with Teresa Sullivan. When the BOV tries to plan and make back room deals with outside interests WITHOUT the president of the school, s$&t will hit the fan. UVA takes less state money every year because Richmond keeps cutting funding. UVA is 70% instate students with a huge endowment. I will not be surprised if they go private sooner than later as they become more financially independent from the state.
