We are Americans. We don't draw curtains at night. If we did all the neighbors would be gossiping and wondering what we're doing that we have to draw the curtains!
Most of our windows don't have curtains. I like the clean look. |
| I'm always amazed at people who have nothing on their windows and you can view straight into their houses during the day and especially at night. I like having privacy in my home and curtains, screens, blinds, or shades are a must. What looks good for showings or in magazines don't always translate into real life. |
So what are you hiding? |
|
I think that curtains are "out" right now and decorative hard window coverings (plantation shutters, blinds) are "in".
That said, I still prefer to have curtains in some areas. I think that they dress up a room and make it feel more personal. Greige paint + bare windows = generic to me. |
| ^Oh, I also like paint colors that are not currently in fashion like soft yellow. |
My t and a? My embarrassingly hallmark-heavy Netflix queue? |

Saying curtains are out is like saying rugs are out.
They aren't some fad. They're a normal part of a room. |
| We have a new home and decided to only put roller shades or roman shades on all the windows (except the laundry room which as blinds). Clean, simple look. They are all from the Shade Store. |
| I have custom curtains and blinds. I feel like the curtains pull the room together. And blind out curtains in bedrooms are a must for me! |
| No curtains at my house. We have decorative trim on the windows and blinds only. I prefer this look. |
| Ok, so the roller shade look has been “in” for at least the last three years, so how long before it reverts back to curtains? I really like the roller shade look, and have a new build house to buy window coverings for. As much as I want the place to look good...I kind of don’t want to pay for window treatments twice in the next 10-15 years. Do we think the roller shades are going anywhere style wise in the next 5 years? |
Why are you such an exhibitionist? |
