Yes, phones are expensive, but when you really think about it, they’re so many devices in one. It does the work of a phone, laptop (to an extent), GPS, camera, alarm clock, stopwatch, calendar, and so much more. So I get it.

Seriously, I use my iPhone all day every day (for better or for worse). Not possible to calculate cost per use even but I certainly get my money’s worth.

Apple SE. $400 bought at the end of last yr (bc I specifically wanted a small phone not bc I couldn't spend $600 or $900). Bought it straight out except for the few bucks that Verizon makes you finance that you can put onto the next bill.

When we moved to Verizon in 2015 they gave DH and I each a $500 credit (current Fios customer and turning in phones). I got the iPhone 6s and DH got the 6s plus. I think I paid 200 and he paid 300 in the end. DD bought a 6s last year and we paid 600 (she paid half).

Before that I had a Galaxy S6 that costed around $800 - I kept it for almost three years.

Galaxy S7. Sprint had a BOGO deal so I think I paid $250 for it about 18 months ago. Still works fine.
