Why are drugs so expensive in the US?

because they know people value their lives and will pay a lot for something that will save it. What's that word when there's a natural disaster/emergency, and vendors raise prices for drinking water? Price gouging. That's what the pharma industry does to us.

The appearance of "Free market" (which is totally BS in this country given how many corporate subsidies we have) is more important than having life saving drugs be affordable. This should tell you where these people's priorities lie.

Democrat here. Sucking up to Big Pharma is a bipartisan trait.

true.. but at least Dems are more willing to have everyone get medical coverage, which helps people with rx costs, unlike Rs.

But Americans are heavily reliant on their meds for many chronic health problems like diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, and ADHD. Even though they could find other remedies, they'd rather just pop pills.

Yeah, I can't believe that I didn't look to a shaman to treat my chronic, hereditary disease that I've had since I was a kid. :roll"

US are famous with non-loyal pharmacy prices, that's a well known fact. But there are also plenty of online pharmacies usa with alternative pricing policy, with meds of really high quality. I personally try to avoid usual local drugstores.

Please show me the provisions of the ACA that require insurance to provide basic formulary coverage....

Pro tip. There are none outside of the birth control stuff.

I have one drug that is very expensive so I order it from Canada. Instead of paying $600 for a 4 month supply, I pay $60.

The U.S. is a corrupt country and pols are bought and paid for.
