| Assuming the sweat has air dried, my husband and I both do this (also assuming we don't smell like BO). Never had a rash, fungal infection or all the other crazy things people are commenting on. It is a little ick but nothing particularly horrible about it |
Who would ever want to have sex with this man? This is exactly how a sexless marriage happens. Even if he showered, I would be so turned off that he had to be guided like a small child in proper hygiene habits. Nothing sexy about having to tell your 45yr old husband to bathe. |
Good you two nasty skanks found each other. |

About 15 years ago, I didn't take a shower until 2-3 hours later (I was running errants after workout). My back started a rash reaction, and I have eczema on my back ever since. Thinking back, there was a huge crack on the bench when I did my bench press. I was young and felt invincible (stupid). Lesson learned.

| Dry sweat is gross. He has to stink. It's so quick for me to shower since they have short hair! Just hop in, rinse, do a quick soap of the pits and face/head, hop out. My DH can shower and get dressed again in 10 minutes. |
|
OP, does he usually shower in the mornings? And if so, does he feel that showering in the evenings wakes him up too much and makes it harder for him to fall asleep? My DH is like that (but hates thinking he's sweaty, even if it's dried, so he'd still shower). Ask your husband if maybe the issue is that he feels showering in the evenings will wake him up too much, or maybe he figures, "I'll shower again before work in the morning so why shower now and have two showers in the span of eight hours"....
If that's the issue, he needs to adjust his workout times or just suck it up and shower afterward. I agree with you that it's gross. And the person saying "I do this and have never had a rash"-- that's her experience, but other people will have different ones. In college I had a roommate who would work out a lot during the days but only showered in the mornings, and she ended up with a infection in the "sinus" at the base of the spine -- that's the tiny hole between your spine and your buttocks. You know, where sweat drips and collects like crazy. (It's real. Look it up. Not lying.) Doc told her that the infection came from not showering for basically a day after her workouts, day after day. Yeah, too much information, I know, but roommates hear it all..l. Your DH needs to shower, and you need to be frank with him about it, OP. |
Same here! |

My wife, who I nag to use our country club gym, never showers after her workouts. It's disgusting. I played sports throughout high school and college. After school I was highly active and worked out. Perhaps due to my background I'm used to showering, drinking plenty of water, etc. But, my wife works out for 35-40 minutes by WALKING on a treadmill, barely breaking a sweat...then doesn't shower.
And she also will lay in bed. It's disgusting. |
This. This is why my wife and I haven't had sex in over four years. In our marriage she's the kid. We're in our 40s and she literally has the maturity of a 20-30 year old. It kills me. I bring up how unhappy I am with our family, etc and she changes for a month...then back to the same old immature person. I know at some point we will separate. Sadly, we have a kid. My kid is the only reason I have not separated yet. All you women who complain about how lazy, immature, or whatever your husband is...well there are wives the same way. |
| Did you ask him to shower? I can't imagine you did and he just ignored you and got into bed smelling badly. I think if my husband asked if I was planning on showering before bed -- for whatever reason -- I'd sprint to the bathroom. Who wants to stink, or be otherwise off-putting to their spouse?? |
We're talking about not taking showers here. Maybe you need to start a new thread about your immature wife. It doesn't sound like her lack of showering is the issue. |
For every lazy husband there is a lazy wife. It only seems more husbands because women complain more about it. |
| Eeeew!!!! |
If she doesn’t break a sweat, what’s the issue then? I assume she showers daily in the mornings though. |
A lot are, I think its actually 50/50 on what spouse in immature or childish. |
