From their website, an explanation or what UVM stands for: "Called UVM for Universitas Viridis Montis, Latin for "University of the Green Mountains""

Vermont presumably is also a shorthand for green mountain, but the postal abbreviation is VT

Thank you to PPs sharing stats and associated merit awards - very helpful! And those are amazing stats, so congrats!

West Virginia University and Florida Tech (both rolling)

The only other school DS applied to is Virginia Tech (regular, not EA) so he won't hear for another month or two, I'm told.

Kid #1 a few years ago: Northeastern with a ton of aid.

Kid #2: UMDCP and Pitt, both with small amounts of aid.

Not the OP but can you tell my your child’s stats? This school is really high on my junior’s list. It was a sleeper. Just went to see BU, thought we would stop by and fell in love. The co-op program sounds amazing and now Amazon heading to Boston? Lots of opportunities.

UMD CP is already announcing decisions?

Penn. The first and only. DD was debating about doing Stanford REA at first, but these two were by far her top 2 school she decided to go with the less risky option. Worked out for us. The odds at Stanford SCEA would be much longer than Penn ED and Penn RD is a big-time crapshoot, so we feel we made the right choice.
