This was DCA to MCO on Southwest. Had to play around with dates a bit.

But now I am in same situation as you trying to figure out where to stay.

To clarify, the $557 was also the total for all 4 tickets but we wanted a later flight.

Wow, how can you find tickets for $500 to Florida during spring break. Our tickets to Miami that week were $1800 for 4 (non stop flights)

I don't know. Just kept checking and got lucky. One way was $45 and the other way there was a flight for low 100s.

What exact dates? There is nothing remotely near FCPS break in that range.

We booked a reasonable Marriott in Amsterdam and a serviced apartment in Kensington and will eat breakfast and most dinners apartment. We have purchased the LondonPass with travel for all 4 of family at a discount. Pretty confident it will be less than 5K. I think that knowing a good deal when you see it makes it possible to keep things cheap. 8 months earlier I looked at the same flights and it was 1200 per person!!

Do you mind telling us what service apartment in Kensington are you going to rent? Was it through a rental company or a personal owner?

It is called No.1 The Mansions by Mansley. Gets good reviews but this is my first time actually staying there. They have everything from studios to 3 or 4 bedrooms. Kitchens etc.

Thank you so much!

And return on April 4 (which would require missing school) is only $45. So $90 round trip.

So you are leaving mid break and then skipping two days of school on the week back?

MCPS goes back on the 3rd. Kids will miss one day of school- not two. Still get a full week there (which is plenty) and save a ton on airfare.

I'm actually a Disney fan, but I agree with other posters...don't go during Spring Break. You and your family will be miserable.
Seriously.

I’m the poster leaving 3/21 and I totally agree with this. My kids will now two days of the school but the savings was significant. Mine are in ES so it’s really no big deal.

Is it really miserable if you have been before and know what you are doing? We went to Universa last spring break and didn't find crowds to be a problem at all.

My kids want to go back to Disney and the choices are Spring Break or summer. Given that choice (and having been in August) it seems worth it to go for Spring Break because at least the weather should be nice. We have been so know what rides to ride, how to plan, etc. I get what you are saying but there seem to be trade offs with weather, crowds, missed school, etc.

If you are seasoned Disney goers and have appropriate expectations, it’s fine. We too prefer Spring Break to summer. The weather is much better in spring, plus we escape the grossness at home.

Don't do it.
Just don't.

All that money just to stand in LONG LONNNNNNNG LINES with thousands and thousands of other people.

Can't pay me enough to do it again.
