She was a famous soap opera actress before that. She's very accomplished privately and went back to school post-fame for a Master's Degree, something celebrities almost never do. I have a lot of respect for her and her career.

I think she’s great and I really like her. She’s smart and I think she’s actually very down to earth and family oriented. I also liked that she kicked that NBA star to the curb when she found out he ascribed to the NBA ethos that what-happens-on-the-road-doesn’t-count. She seems like she’s independent and has a good sense of self. I’m planning on watching her travel show about Spain!

Tabloids are plastered with the Kate, Megan, Kardashians. I haven't seen Eva Longoria in a long time.

I'm wondering this too. I loved DH and I remember when she married the basketball player. This thread reminded me that I've forgotten about her until now. Now I want to go look and see what other movies/shows she's done.

She (or her team?) is very active on Instagram. She is always on the go and seems to have an enviable life. I enjoyed her show Chasing Mexico.

She looks amazing and is doing a great job playing a fictional version of herself on OMITB.

You're right ! It sounds wealthy to you. But, head of a media company—especially in Latin America—does not make someone 'very very wealthy'.

They needed a Hispanic woman that actually looks Hispanic for tv. Sofia Vergara and jlo are basically white women. Jlo with her Irish and pr background and Vergara with her blonde hair and hazel eyes.

Eva Longoria's family have been in the Texas area since the 1700s, long before it was Texas. It's very well-known about her.

Yeah, she grew up in Corpus Christi and got her start competing in local pageants there.

If you've ever been to South Texas, you'll see that the Mexican roots run very deep. Most Mexican Americans who live there still have family in Mexico. In many places in that area Spanish is more widely spoken than English.
