Am I too pedantic?Neighbor shoving leaves into wooded area between our houses.

unless there is a safety issue, like a fire hazard you need to let it go.

stop looking out the back windows like norman bates.

Persnickety may be the word you're looking for.

i back up to difficult run. and while I don't have many trees I do get some leaves. abnd I do deposit my leaves into the undrgrowth of the county property.

Now I do use my lawn and garden tractor to suck the leaves up so they have been chipped up pretty fine by the time I dump them. I have no problems with others doing this as well,

however I have seen some neighbors that use the area as a private landfill. IE they pull out shrubs cut a tree down and drag that waste into the county land.

So i guess there is a point at which something becomes too much. But, that being said. having the waste there is better than a landfill...

OP here. Thanks for the previous pp replying. I think that is what is bothering me. It is too much. And it looks ugly. His house is not far into the wooded area, on the contrary, it is a corner house, where main road and entry to our subdivision starts. So kind of an L shaped, with the narrow wooded area ending at neighbors house and piles of leaves clearly seen from the main street. I guest I need to let go of my hang up about this, since unless I pick it up, it is only aggravates me. Yesterday during my walk with my dog, I passed by many houses that back onto the actual forest, and nobody had 4,5 feet piles of leaves at the very edge of the forest.

Sigh OP. There's nothing wrong with what your neighbor's doing. I am sorry you don't like it but life doesn't always work the way you want. Go find something productive things to do.

You need to find new hobbies, OP. What your neighbor is doing is normal and good for the environment. Your obsessing about it is not healthy.

They break down and turn into great soil- don't worry about the leaves in the woods.

Maybe this year your neighbor will see you removing the leaves and get the point.

Nope, he is there right now showing more and more leaves in, while I was picking up the mess my lawn guy did. My pile was about a foot high, his is right now well over 4ft high.
Yes, I can see that my use of pedantic might be too much, sorry and yes I am maybe too bothered by this.

Over four feet high leaf piles?

Get some baileys in your coffee OP.

I would hire someone to pick up the leaves that my guy shoved back in there and pick up the neighbors as well.

I understand the OP's concern. If leaves are snowed on before they are raked up, it kills all the grass.

The wood pile issue I would save for another time. Get the leaf issue resolved first.

Maybe your neighbor can put his leaves in a pile right before whomever you hire comes to pick them all up. Or maybe alternative hiring removal?

That is a great idea. Thank you. First year we moved in, DH and I actually picked all the leaves from the wooded area and removed them, even though it wasn't our property. I looked up pedantic and I see that it can mean fussy, perfectionist, but that is most often refers to learning. I thought it referred to general fussiness.

Please tell us you and your husband did not go rake the woods?!?!

Leaves are supposed to fall there.

Have you never lived near nature OP? Are you a city girl or from a place where you only have one real season?
