Allegation against Neil DeGrasse Tyson

The backlash will be the realization and acceptance that most men do/have done this kind of shit and there's nothing anyone can do or say to stop it.
Before long, it will be our husband or father or son accused and women will start to minimize and cover up. Again.

A great way to avoid this would be to keep the focus on more serious cases (rape/assault) and refrain from stuff like "he said mean and inappropriate things to me" back in 200x (see Ellen Page). Things like rape and sexual assault will never be normalized, but being overly inclusive of "lesser" sins will water down the movement cause people to not see these allegations as serious.

i think someone berating a child in front of others and outing her is pretty disgusting and parsing seriousness of allegations is not the way to go.

Well, there is some parsing to be done, because some of the allegations are about crimes while most are just about abhorrent behavior.

I don't know about the allegation but there is something odd about him.

THIS. Everyone loves to point fingers until it's their own husband or son who's accused. Personally, I'm going to reserve judgment and not believe every single years old accusation that's just now coming out. I'm sure many of them are true. But no one knows exactly what is and isn't true, including DCUM's resident man-haters.

Yes, some men are creeps. But I will always believe the vast majority of men are good people.
