Daughter is voting for the first time tomorrow

Social studies teacher here. Voting is only the tip of the civic participation iceberg. But I'm all for celebrating it. OP, much of DCUM takes their young children along to watch and get an, "I Voted!" sticker. Why not graduate to eating out together?

My grandmother made a cake for the family to celebrate each time one of us voted for the first time. Sort of to celebrate the birth of our formal civic engagement. It was nice. I am not professionally engaged in politics, but I regularly volunteer to serve as a voting observer and in other capacities. Celebrate away!
