| No. It does not trouble me. |
This is what people do when they have lost an argument. They attack the other person and accuse them of gaslighting. Just because they don't agree with the history of the 3/5 compromise. Doesn't fit the storyboard--but, it actually has nothing to do with the more serious issue. |
BAM. Exactly. |
| Black people in Africa rounded up their own people for sale. Do they still teach that? |
Be grateful that your child's school.still.teaches accurate history. |
I take that back. Sounds like there are redneck racists all over VA. WTF?! |
If understanding historical facts makes you a "redneck racist", then I guess you are correct. You seem to want to change history to match your own personal point of view. I seriously doubt that the information about Lee's opposition to slavery is presented in a vacuum. |
Historical Facts(tm) = spin generated by redneck racists in Richmond. And supported here. Puke. |
| Why doesn't OP actually post what document was used to teach from and where the inaccuracy is. |
The power points can only be accessed with an FCPS student ID. Basically the slides state that his legacy was founding a university, opposition to slavery, and reconciliation with the north after the war. Yes the teacher probably gave more context to those slides. I haven't been on DCUM in a while and after seeing these responses I don't plan to post again. |
|
So this was just about his actions after the war. Did this class start after the war? Did they talk about seizing his land and taking away his right to vote? What is it that you thought they should have put in the slides about his postwar years?
"I haven't been on DCUM in a while and after seeing these responses I don't plan to post again" Uggh. People have just gone off the deep end with their superiority complexes and anti Trump propaganda. It's so obvious that people who post statements like that have never had an in depth discussion about race before Trump. This discussion is very light. No one who has discussed race before would leave a discussion like this based on frustration. |
Yes. All because OP cannot understand the fact that some people who make terrible choices may also have some redeeming qualities. And, because OP cannot understand what the 3/5 compromise was about. |
