You correctly state that FCV sucked it up except for one weekend. But ...

Spirit VA (w/o VDA results): 0 for 6, outscored 27 to 2
Spirit MD (w/o Classics): 1 for 8, outscored 31-6

These results, along with VDA's dismal performance, just shows that US Soccer put too many DAs in the DMV.

Aww, who's butt hurt now? Tell me, when Loudoun and FCV merged and built this monster and your kid was awarded the golden ticket did you really think that as a club your only wins would be against a Spirit team? Did you really think your kids would score 3 goals and give up 18 and be swept as club by two other clubs at this point?

Do you really think ANY Spirit parent felt that their teams were going to set the world on fire? Spirit is completely new, what's FCV's excuse?

Actually I dont think there is much surprise at FCV being swept by PDA and PF. They are very strong clubs. There was probably a hope for something better but it is what it is. Lets see how it all plays out.

Swept? Really? Yes they are strong clubs but FCV was supposed to be much improved. I mean, LOUDOUN after-all. But not just swept, 3 GF 18 GA. That is pretty bad. Point is, perhaps the FCV parent who kinda started this should stop punching down at Spirit and perhaps worry more about PDA and Penn Fusion. Or better yet, go to some of the NY/NJ soccer boards and talk your smack there.

Well you are clearly more incensed by this than the fcv side is worried about the losses, so perhaps a Xanax is in order this afternoon?

Why would I need Xanax for something that makes me laugh a little bit?

Spirit are 100% new teams FCV is likely all new teams as well because of the influx of Loudon players. Play against any team that's been together from the early age groups and its an uphill battle.

Many of the Spirit MD parents think they won the jackpot by finding a new DA team that had very little demand. Let's see how this dream come true turns out for their snowflakes.

I'll give you some insider info....very few Loudoun players made FCV DA teams. I would say around 10 percent.

Probably around 2 percent are from the Loudoun pool above U14. So don't get it twisted, the teams are built from existing ECNL player pools.

Here is my 2 cents. Take it or leave it.

FCV have always been recipients of good players because of their ECNL status.

The "best" players always came to them. All they have to do was choose which race horse they wanted from the stable.

The bought them at auctions without breeding or training a single one.

Sometimes they picked right, sometimes the were wrong. Because picking the best horse prior to 14 is tricky. But it didn't matter, because they'll just bought more horses.

They then take those horse and run them through the paces at practice. Very little "teaching" or Development" is taking places. Just a lot of reps.

Long story short:

I'm not saying they don't develop players to a degree. I'm just saying they don't develop players as well as I have seen Spirit do.

I'm not saying that the Spirit player will be better then the FCV player because of it. I'm saying that the Spirit player will, over time, be a better version of themselves...which is true development.

I think every Spirit parent felt that they were going to get excellent training and that is about it. I don’t think any prognostications or comments ever eluded to anything but FCV being the strongest DA based on player pool. I don’t think anyone gave Spirit a competitive chance. I think Spirit expectations were and have remained tempered based on outcomes.

FCV on the other hand was expected to be further along this was not debated and mostly flaunted by FCV parents. Now it is early and PDA was not unexpected but for Penn Fusion to dominate as they did? No FCV parent saw that coming. But there is no doubt that right now FCV is the best DA in the area for whatever that’s worth.
Anonymous
FCV is the best DA in the area. Not because of the coaches but because of their player pool. The arrogant coaches at FCV will never get that.

Any shift is that dynamic will cause FCV to collapse.

FCV sucks and lining up with Loudoun was a bad move all around.

For anyone keeping score, its WS parents 7, FCV parents 5 on the obnoxiousness meter.

Someone's has a weak chin and cant take a counter punch. Next time, keep you pot stirring butt on the FCV sidelines and worry about your daughters team.
