This was a few years ago, but I applied in June and interviewed in October. Got a tentative offer in November, and then did not get a final written offer and start date until late January. YMMV. |
| I was saying 6 weeks before you hear a peep (if you hear at all). With interviews, background, badging, fingerprinting, tentative offer, real offer, if you have any sort of salary match needed, having to start on the Monday of a pay period, etc... it could realistically be 9 months before you actually start. |
Yeah, sorry, I meant to be clearer -- it was far more than 6 weeks before I heard a peep. I applied in June and was first called back in October, then interviewed in October and etc. as stated above. |
| This is my experience. June of 2016 I gave my friend (who words at the Fed) my resume during a DHS job fair just for the hell of it and not seriously considering a fed job. December 2016 got called in for an interview and went well. Got called again in January 2017 for another set of interviews, but said due to the hiring freeze it would be difficult but they will try to get an exemption. Hiring freeze lifted and then hiring manager put the job listing at USAjobs for 2 days in May. He gave me the heads up and a preview of the job description. Got certified and received a TO in June and started the background checks. Got the final offer in August and requested an EOD in mid-October. Now debating on taking it. |
