Potty training

If a school asks your child to leave, be prepared to report them to OSSE.

Every DC child has the right to be in school. Period.

Sounds like a bully's assumption.

People say this every time. Then they ask their nice, sweet kids and, yep, they remember.

Well, if they're not bullies, then who cares if they remember? That said, I still believe you are full of sh*t (no pun intended) and don't actually have any even anecdotal data on this.

Just ask a second grade classroom and report back.

This. The school system made a decision to accept children who are barely 3 years old. It was a financial decision. They can't just take the money but not the negative aspects of working with very young children.

Have you done it? You sound like just the creep to do it.

My oldest entered PK3 on an IEP. He was trained, but was prone to accidents due to nerves. His school was very flexible and understanding. His little brother is now in PK-3 and turns three tomorrow. He's trained when awake, but always has an accident at nap. Again, no big deal.

I honestly think the potty training rule is one that schools keep in their back pocket as an excuse to get rid of kids who they don't care for, but have no real legal way to get rid of.

"Getting rid of" a child for not being potty trained would not be legal either.

OP here.

Thanks, to all the supportive and nice parents.
My kids got enrolled (I have twins boys) and their teacher is amazing.
One got an accident on the first day and the other one on the second day but overall they are doing a pretty good job.

To the haters, I am sorry for you and your sad little life.
My kids may be not fully potty train but they can speak two languages! I am not a stay at home mom and I have no family here so with two parents working it is hard to spend time during the week with two toddlers to potty train!
I hope all your kids go to Harvard next year since you are the best parents, mine will keep enjoying life as preschoolers...

Well put, OP!

Hahahaha, homegirl, you cray. Nobody cares, least of all kids. Get a grip and live your live. Jesus.

Yikes, OP. You seem to have a real chip on your shoulder.

I am not convinced all the kids at Wilson are potty trained, they still need to go to school.
