My office is having a viewing party on our roof in DC at the peak time in DC. We are serving: sun chips, sunflower seeds, moonpies and have Sunkist drinks to drink.

Crowd sourcing please help: What else should we have to eat / drink?

NASA guy here. Of course the geek in me says you should serve Coronas.

If you have Amazon Prime, you can order on AP and pick up at the College Park site.

Oh yeah, and sunbutter mini sandwiches. For those who like iced tea, you can make a bottle of sun tea. Sunny side up eggs?

You can make sun-baked cookies: http://www.wikihow.com/Bake-Cookies-on-Your-Car-Dashboard

Not sure if it's worth the hassle, but here is a simulator. Plug in your town and Charleston, SC to see the difference.

I did try that, thanks! It's so much darker in SC... I'm so tempted.

I don't trust "eclipse sunglasses ". Anyone else?

Me! I feel like the NASA poster's info was super helpful and reassuring, but I am near phobic about eye stuff. I can't see a thing without glasses or contacts - literally can't see one foot in front of me without them, and it's been like that since I was a kid, so I am very sensitive around anything eye related. I appreciate the eclipse but would rather enjoy it more indirectly.

Call MoCo public libraries, they are selling them.

I got mine at Lowe's.

They are also for sale on Amazon, but there are also lots of warnings about counterfeit ones there that don't actually meet safety standards so I went with
a physical store.

Which Lowes?

Alexandria. But they appear to be out of stock now.

Plus, Starbursts, moon pies, and tang.

We live in Tennessee, right smack in the middle of the band. Very excited. We have our glasses and have friends traveling here from Virginia. We are having a small eclipse party - heading out on our boat to see the action from the lake. It should be exciting. I hope the weather is great.
