DD w/interest in 2 wildly different poss. majors - thinking Brown might be a good fit - what others?

OP back. Thanks for clueing me in on the "Open Curriculum" choice -- I didn't know that that was the term used to describe what I think DD is looking for. I think that is exactly what she needs to feel no pressure in exploring what she is interested in. Will start looking for colleges who have that philosophy.

Also, thanks to the PPs who said not to divulge her interest areas and for explaining their reasons why. I have put a toe into this forum but will likely be back again and again as the application process looms nearer and nearer (not this Fall, thankfully) and BTDT advice helps!

I'll go in the opposite direction and say a place like Notre Dame, where all students have several of the same core requirements might be a good choice.

That way, freshmen year, the classes she takes will count no matter what she ends up majoring in. Obviously, if she may want to be an engineer, she better take the high level math course as her math course, for example, but at least it still fulfills her first year of studies requirements even if she ends up being an art major.
