What he did was wrong. Full stop. As someone who grew up in a similar cult though I get it. When your world is really small, you have no access to sex ed or external media, very sheltered, homeschooled, masturbation is a sin and you have no outlets for sexual urges....puberty is really hard.

I was a girl who saw all the boys really struggle around that age. they had no idea what to do with their sexual thoughts or feelings or urges. I was molested in a similar way by two of them. Neither grew up to be pedophiles. Whether or not they are adulterers, I don't know.

Unless you have experienced that kind of upbringing, you can't really understand the mindset or the developmental immaturity that comes with being that sheltered and isolated from others

Neither Jim Bob nor Michelle grew up in the cult. They know how the world works, they are not sheltered, and they make their own fully informed choices. For them to have allowed this to happen and subsequently do nothing about it is completely reprehensible and unforgivable.

It is not normal for a boy to molest his sisters. Full stop. It is not only not normal, it is indicative of major underlying problems which need to be addressed. You have no idea whether the boys who molested you grew up to be pedophiles or otherwise a danger to society. You haven't the faintest idea.

I saw Anna in line at the Alexandria Whole Foods. I think they had 3 kids then. She stood out like a sore thumb because she was dressed in a long skirt and had three little kids with her ... definitely not a look you see a lot in this area! She's much smaller than she looks on TV.

Oh and not Josh/Anna related but a college acquaintance met Michelle a few times in Arkansas. They had babies in the NICU in Arkansas at the same time (the youngest Duggar daughter who was a preemie, and my friend's child who was also a preemie). She said Michelle was very nice. She never saw any of the others.
