Daycare food

Everyday, I am wondering what I should pack for next day's lunch. DD is very picky and I am just glad that she will eat mac and cheese. I'll let her eat whatever she wants as long as she eats something.

OP here. DD currently will eat everything. She's not picky yet. I'd prefer to get the veggies in while she can eat them. I really feel like I'm an average eater, but wouldn't eat fast food. And yeah I don't eat french fries.

They had bologne for lunch yesterday.

You are a paying customer and absolutely within your rights to raise the subject; however, this will be a sensitive issue for the daycare owner. The bottom line (from a cynical point of view) is that it sounds like they are doing the minimum, and the minimum is less time-consuming/more inexpensive than providing fresh fruit and veggies and something other than the baseline required by USDA. I'm skeptical that you will be able to move the needle much, particularly if other parents have not complained. I think your choices are either to live with it or provide DC with lunch so you have control over her food.
