60 year old guy in DC -- How to meet more women around my age?

Why? What makes it better than Match or OkCupid?

I've asked that question before as well. I don't think people are different from site to site. There is a lot of overlap between Match and OkCupid, plus POF though using that site makes my brain hurt. Bumble seemed to be for hookups.

Most 60+ year old women were discouraged from a lot of outdoor physical activity when younger, as it was still considered a "guy thing." Older women garden instead, that was "acceptable" outdoor stuff back on the day, and fun / rewarding too.

You're hilarious. I'm 56 year old woman and "back in the day", I was encouraged to try rock climbing, play ice hockey, and run cross country. 60 year olds grew up in the 70's, FFS.

+ 1! I’m also 56, and I hike, ski, kayak, run, etc. My older friends do the same. I don’t frequent craft or fabric stores. In fact I’d be surprised if older women frequenting craft stores are single.

Yes especially if you want to be a daddy again.

Get a dog - a super cute dog will attract women and let you chat with them briefly, introduce yourself and seem trustworthy. Make your move after you've met a lady a few times.

Another recommendation for Glen Echo. One of my cousins is in a band that plays for contra dances there and the turnout is incredible. You can come before the actual dances start to get instruction.

Love this! My 22-year-old DD recently posted that “do you want to meet my dog?” is her favorite pickup line.

Hopefully you're looking for a woman in her 50s (not 30s). I'm 55 and many places I go there are women my age and very few men. Try Politics and Prose rather than Joanne Fabrics if you really want to pick up a woman in a store. Or join a book group or yoga class. Many Meetup groups have mostly women as well.

I would welcome a 60-year-old single man at any of these.

Just do what you enjoy. My mom met her current (great) husband in a yoga class in her late 50s, when she thought she was completely done with men.

Guy, 55, at Politics a lot. No meet cutes have arisen.

Move to the Villages.

My mom is 57 and has never had a garden. She likes walks, hiking, going to the beach, the usual stuff.

Start birding—many older women take it up.

Meetups. Look for hiking groups. You will probably do better with the 45 and up women. Just my experience as a man the same age.

As I said, above. This is probably a better target age for an active, in shape 60 year old man.

You said it. I’m 58, and grew up participating in all types of outdoor sports and activities.

(And then spent my 20s and 30s fighting for respect in male-dominated workplaces so little millennial snowflakes like the prior PP would have it better. You’re welcome.)
