Where is Kingsbury moving to?

It's off the topic of this thread PP, but the Lab School has gone around and around about the lease issue for years. It's a very powerful neighborhood coalition. They've mucked up the works for Lab hence screwing over SN kids.

They've also hoisted themselves are their own petard making them a food dessert as well:

There are existing threads on either topic, so go troll away on one of those.

PP here. I'm not familiar with the history here, so I was going to thank you for the background until you ended with some characteristic DCUM assholery.

Not everyone is a troll. Sometimes people are just asking a question. Relax.

Sorry, but if Kingsbury is going to be taken out by an overgrown charter, and Lab will probably be forced to relocate b/c they can't make renovations to a decrepit building, it just makes me sad that DC is turning into a school dessert for kids with SN starting with the dismantling of IDEA and FAPE.

If they don't have a new space identified, it sounds like this was not a planned moved and saying it's too big is a bit of a cover. Fingers crossed that it works out. There will be a huge void for SN kids if they can't get re-established. I will be sad when they leave b/c this building is so iconic for them:

How many students do they have now?

School can stY put for 6 more years so plenty of time to find a new space. Building was always way too big for the school's needs.

Co-location is challenging all around. Kingsbury would be wise to do it for as short a time period as possible.

They will also go from being owner of their facility to tenant. Subtle change that will make a big difference.

Just the pick-up drop-off will be a nightmare.
