They've been making fun of the president since 1975 and it hasn't worn off. Sorry this president is such a snowflake that he can't take it.

SNL does political satire well but I think the rest of the show has lots its mojo. I particularly dislike the monologues which have now almost exclusively become silly song numbers performed by hosts with no musical talent whatsoever.

It is an incubator for comedians. Good skits, bad skits; doesn't matter. It is both a testing ground and a proving ground for comedy. I'd say it is essential to the industry.

If the administration didn't make itself such a target than maybe it wouldn't be on every week. But, really, you gotta laugh or cry right now, and I'd rather laugh. Looking forward to more Spicey tomorrow night!

I know I'm not the only one staying up tonight specifically to see Spicey in the bushes.

Ha Ha I was going to say the same thing! But, he didn't say "SAD"! or "Overrated" or "Terrible!!!!!!" so it probably isn't him. Also, there are no pictures so it would be "too hard" to follow the discussions.

To the op:

If you don't like it, than don't watch it. Simple. Move somewhere else where there is no SNL if it bothers you that much!

Huh. Sounds like opening doesn't like it when things are too real. I bet they think the Hulu Handmaid's Tale was disrespectful schlock against Trump too. Heh.

OP not opening. Darn autocorrect

Well, might not make it that late, but my DVR will be set

I'm as uptight as they come, and find the political satire rather amusing, OP, and I don't watch the rest.

Is it because they're making fun of your candidate that you don't like them?

This. They may fun of whatever is most outrageous.

Sorry Donald, you need to grow a thicker skin.

What? I'm 50 years old, and SNL is as good as ever. This is absolutely amazing from 2016:

It's Pythonesque.

The only thing better than this is "Lazy Sunday."

Because it's still hilarious. Different people find different things funny. 99% of sitcoms currently on TV make me want to claw my eyes out, yet there they are, still on TV.

Have you seen Kate McKinnon? She is practically in every sketch, and she kills it.

PP stopped watching "years ago," and therefore, as a non-watcher, is the most highly qualified person to speak on it.
