Very difficult to get into for engineering, architecture and vet school. Engineering requires at least a 4.0 and very high test scores.

Purdue for engineering. Apply early. Also has the bonus of relatively inexpensive out of state tuition -- about $28k.

Incorrect. DS got into Purdue. Maybe you are looking at tuition only? Total package was $42,000. We called to see if they would match UVA and they don't. Went to UVA.

You must be ancient. GMU has exploded. The state legislature is pouring money into it. There are 33,000 students, lots of international students. The Econ and Computer Science Departments are nationally known . All freshman live on campus so the days of "commuter school" reputation are long gone. Read and learn. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Mason_University
