Religion discussion fora that aren't DCUM?

OP here again. Can you two point to one constructive thing either of you has contributed to this thread? Abusing me doesn't count.

Yeah, didn't think so. That, folks, is called "trolling."

Gotta go out now. I'll check in the morning for your explanation of how constructive you've been here.

That poster is why I'm still here, waiting for more posts like that.

Why you're here I can't imagine.

Funny that you say that...

"Can people stop making statements about religions they don't belong to. As this thread keeps proving, having theological training in a different, possibly antagonistic, religion seems particularly prone to error."

OP might not be so happy without atheists to insult and pick fights with, which seemed to be the purpose of this thread.

Certainly OP could have surfed a little an found some likely message boards. Just now, I googled "Liberal Christianity blogs" and found this https://progressivechristianity.org/blogs-we-love/ followed by a long list of other progressive Christian blogs.

Surely some of them will be atheist free.

OP here. DH is an atheist. You two just have to make it all about insulting atheists, because you can't take responsibility for your own trolling and immature behavior here.

All I've said (until now) is that I want to get away from you two, but you guys have been trying to troll me with both guns blazing since the start.

If you don't like the thread, leave. Really, you're free to go. Just go troll another thread, it's really that simple. Why are you hanging around in a thread asking about religious sites, if not to insult me and continue the trolling?

What about the "theology" poster? Did you enjoy that exchange?

Newsflash - just because someone doesn't agree with you doesn't make them a troll. Starting antagonizing threads again and again? I'd call that a troll. Really, I doubt anyone will miss you on DCUM.

You're a troll, honey. Own it. Coming on this thread to lie for two pages about OP is trolling by any definition.

What lies? And this is my 5th total post on this thread so I haven't been "lying" for two pages.

OP is paranoid and thinks that every post including anything remotely contradictory to her posts is posted just by one or two posters (atheists) who happen to be out to get her. If she didn't post inflammatory crap then people wouldn't call her out on it. I only open threads with interesting topics on Recent Topics - I don't even know they are in Religion half of the time when I'm browsing on my phone. And I usually only post if someone is acting like a dick.

OP - share the posts where you think these "two atheist trolls" were "attacking" you. I doubt anyone else would see them in that way.

Easy, so easy. The many posts where you or somebody else lies and say I'm leaving because I can't tolerate different opinions. I can't be bothered to humor you and list them all, but there are many such lying posts here, as any reader of this thread knows. Whereas the truth, which I've repeated multiple times, is that I'm sick of all your trolling and derailing.

This thread is an awesome example of your trolling, btw.

How about you and they explain why you're on this thread making up stuff about me and my motives? I've asked multiple times. If you're not a troll, give us reasons to believe your sincerity. Go on now....

because you think that trolls who aren't smart enough to find the forums on their own would come here to find out where to offend Christians? because the real purpose of this thread is to bash the moderator and people who don't hold your beliefs? or people who are not Christian? or who are not the same brand of Christian as OP? I suspect OP was more interested in making a statement than in asking a question.

And it appears that pp would rather be snarky than assist OP in the search for a Christian forum.

Why not take a chance and post a link to the online venue you found that excited you? If it's a Christian forum, they might disallow comments from people who disagree with their point of view.

Your mistake is assuming that these fora require that you share their beliefs to be allowed to stay. In fact most of these groups seem to welcome opposing views and questions, because there's no discussion or learning without at least some disagreement. Perhaps if you join a daily prayer/affirmation-type forum that might be the case. You seem really riled up that I don't enjoy your bullying and want to spend my time more productively?

So why not help out a fellow traveler and provide the link to the forum you mention? If a troll goes there, they will just get booted out, as mentioned in another post.

Or perhaps you think a more productive use of your time is to complain about atheists who come to a religion forum.

OP here. It's to get away from posters like you that I want to go to these other fora--that would be a more productive use of my time.

Hopefully, the religious pp will provide you with the link to the forum they like so much. Maybe pp will check first to see if that forum has a way to keep out people with disagreeable opinions so there will be no worry that DCUM atheists will go there too.

You should look up how to use the word "hopefully."

OK - maybe this one is easier for you: please show us a few of many threads where you've gracefully tolerated others' opinions. I'm sure those will be easy to find.

As I'm sure you've already heard many times before, there are multiple people posting on these threads. All of the posts that you consider "trolling and derailing" are not made by one individual. Are you new to DCUM? Discussion boards? The internet?

And it's hilarious that you think anyone would follow you to some other religious discussion board. So paranoid. I wish Jeff would remove Religion from Recent Topics so I wouldn't have to come across this kind of drama at all. But I get sucked in when I read some truly mean/stupid/annoying stuff.

DCUM religion forum is generally terrible.

No theological depth and yes generally every thread about Christianity ends up with a pile-on of weird trolls that would get banned if they attached Islam or Hinduism, but Christianity its always open season.

Lots of better fora out there.

I am relatively orthodox Catholic so I think we swim in different circles, but Patheos seems to have tons of your type on there so I would start with that. It's a fun place to hear all sorts of different voices.

OP here. Thanks for the Patheos recommendation. I just spent some time there. Interesting--progressives, Muslim feminists, Taoists, evangelicals, Buddhists. I probably need to watch it over a few weeks or months but I got the impression it was more about the life of faith and that it would be good as a way to get to know other faiths. A good complement to a site mentioned earlier where people were at the level of detail of arguing over scripture passages. Thanks!

Another good idea, op, would be to come here only to find new suggestions about liberal Christian sites and avoid engaging with people that bug you so much. Just ignore them.

OP here. You're absolutely right, of course. I guess I found the denial (it's not our trolling, it's you) to be a sort of last straw. But yes, I should ignore it.

Glad you liked it. There's some very good Catholic writers on there too if anyone is curious.
