Itchy anus at night. |
| Op here. I got the Dr dog book last time and he even stopped sucking his thumb for 2 weeks, but then started again. So frustrating. The cleaning. I just dread the cleaning. |
Thank you! I'm hoping to work with the kids to break this habit. Here's another reason. |
| Does anyone have any stories about this going away and not coming back repeatedly? I am just worried this is going to be an ongoing problem despite all our efforts. DC is really trying with the nail biting and thumb sucking. I don't want this to happen a 3rd time. |

I got rid of them after 2 doses of pin x- but I feel for you. The cleaning is awful. I did sheets and towels every day, showers in the morning and at night, with hospital gloves on. Plus, daily vacuuming and cloroxing of bathroom. Everyone used flushable wipes instead of tp.
In case anyone comes across this searching I was pregnant in early first trimester when this happened and baby is fine from the treatments. Was super worried about it! |
| Can't imagine dealing with this while pregnant. For some reason it's really stressing me out. I think it's that I can't control it. I hate nagging everyone about cleaning their hands, etc. Especially when it doesn't garuntee they won't come back anyway. |
|
my son needed 4 round of medicine (once every 2 weeks) for them to be gone. I think he initially had a very bad case that went undiagnosed for a while.
OP sounds like your child picked them up again versus them not being gone the first time around. When my son had them it was the same case that took a while to fully clear because like clockwork them came back 2 weeks after his last dose. |
| This is helpful. I think maybe I should retreat a third time just to be sure. Did you treat the whole family 4 times? |
| Op here. DC was itchy again tonight! Really hoping this is not our third case in a couple of months! Ugh. Will find out later tonight. |
| My three year old got pin worms when I was pregnant with my second. The whole family took the prescription meds. I was only 25 years old and didn't even know I needed to go crazy cleaning. I didn't do anything special. Medicine got rid of them and they never came back. That three year old is 27 now. I wonder if the prescription stuff is stronger? |
| Op here that's what my husband is wondering if we should try a new medication. I feel terrible for my DC. He has done so well and has stopped biting nails or sucking his thumb. He was crying tonight about how unfair it is that he has this again after working so hard... Poor kid! |
