Anyone thought they would be more comfortable going public?

The other day I was waiting for the dentist and there seemed to be a lot of private school forum activity going on. I read some threads. I am quite happy private is not part of our consideration. It seems beyond nuts to beg admissions offices to let you spend 40k per child. And for what? Children that will thrive, will likely thrive in a host of environments so long as their parents are there providing good supports.
