Yes! Even I feel you know how they will vote - call and make your voice heard. The main thing politicians want is to be reelected so when enough people call about an issue, they pay attention. Better method is to attend town hall meetings or speechs they are giving. Online petition don't work. They don't care because anyone can create and sign those without any thought.

Cynically, I think it would only help if your senator is a Republican. I suspect the Democrats all oppose. Bu, it wouldn't hurt.
