Neighbor is hoarding

I found out my neighbor was a hoarder when her pipes broke and her house flooded. She had to pretty much empty the house to get the pipes and floors and walls repaired. I was shocked by what came out of that house. I don't think her hoarding had any affect on my townhouse - but the contractor did seem to think that her house had damage due to the weight of everything.

Rodent pupolations have nothing to do with hoarders, OP, but more to do with warmer or colder years and abundance of predators that year. It's a whole ecosystem you have to consider. There is also proximity to high-density areas, restaurants and other food opportunities such as trash cans.

We've had mice in our basement and kitchen and I know that no one around us is a hoarder. We have an old house and there are lots of little holes through which they can get through. My friend's neighborhood had rats, and they became more careful with their trash storage and disposal, but no one knew why the rats suddenly came and as suddenly disappeared - none were ever caught in traps, they just saw the droppings come and go.

Now, if you want to call adult services on your hoarder, WITH HER INTEREST AT HEART, by all means do so. But don't blame her for the mice!!!
